Who We Are
History
E.B.O.N.Y. has been enriching and celebrating African-American youth since 1980 when it was originally formed as Northwest JJs by seven families. Later in 1980, 22 families gathered at Bear Creek Park for the first all-family social event. Between 1982 and 1983, the organization changed the name to E.B.O.N.Y. -- Enrichment & Brotherhood Organization of Northwest Youth.
Mission
Founded in the Northwest Houston community, E.B.O.N.Y. is committed to promoting unity among neighbors through opportunities for members and their families to learn and teach, as well as socialize with other community organizations. E.B.O.N.Y. instills pride in our cultural identity by securing a greater knowledge of our heritage and our relationship with other cultures. We also promote awareness and anticipation in community activities that is an advantage to the community as a whole.
Today, we continue to promote our mission as an alumni organization of E.B.O.N.Y. in Northwest Houston and nationwide.
